Armenian cuisine is considered to be one of the most ancient cuisines in Asia and the most ancient in the South Caucasus. Its characteristic features were shaped centuries ago. Many recipes that have reached us are “adapted” to the present day, although most of them survived only in the manuscripts, which are held in the “Matenadaran” Research Institute.
Such a “documentary basis” allowed creating a unique series of programs entitled “Taste of Armenia” aimed at revealing the secrets of Armenian cuisine, which were forgotten for this or that reason.
The programs offer unique recipes typical to Western and Eastern Armenia: hot courses, bread recipes, fish and meat meals, sweets, drinks, salads, teas, candied fruits, etc. The program itself is hosted by the inhabitants of different districts who kindly demonstrate how to cook a particular dish.
